Samoan Dating

What a crazy week with new greenies, departing activities, and MLC. The Hawaii Honolulu Mission was blessed with some amazing new missionaries which is much needed for the legends that departed this week. It was sad sending 4 of my past companions on their way home. During our testimony meeting with them all, many talked about change. At the end, our inspired Mission President stood and with tears in his eyes spoke of how change can be either good or bad... and that growth is only positive and each missionary in this group had grown. It was amazing to see after serving nearly 23 months with some of these missionaries who they were at the beginning and who they were as they went back to their families. They were all good… but now each are amazing. It is a blessing to be a part of Christ's restored gospel; a gospel that if lived, a tremendous growth will take place. I have seen it in others’ lives and I have seen that in my life... growth will happen if we will just obey and do our best!
At MLC President Bekker talked about "Vision" and setting short-term goals to achieve that vision. As I took time to truly ponder my vision for my life and what it is, I realized it is a bit different than it was a few years ago. I have seen here on my mission that through prayer my will and Gods will have become one. I know that being his son, he desires the best for me and will support righteous desires. I am blessed to also know he sees the big picture even when I don't and through the Holy Ghost, he will lead me by faith when I cannot see. I heard it said best "this world is a big game and we already know who is going to win in the end. We are all down here running around trying to decide what jersey we are going to put on." I pray each one of us will ensure we put on the correct jersey. It will take sacrifice, effort, and hard work... but in the end, there won't be anything you are more grateful for.
I have been to the PCC a few times now with the departing missionaries and also having a first-hand resource to anything about Samoa, with all my the time I have learned a lot. Especially about having sisters. You see, my sister just so happened to turn 16 right before I left... so I have not been home for any of her dating... but let it be known... in Samoa you go through way more to date a sister than I ever would have imagined. We're talking fire walks, fishing, dance practices, spear throwing, coconut tree climbing, fire making, fire knife dancing, and the list goes on. After being with Elder Fanene going on 4 1/2 months this has rubbed off on me. I will look forward to seeing some Haole guys doing a fire walk when I return. That's right... take some leaves to make a skirt, spread those legs and get shimi'ing over that row of fire!
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Serve, Smile, and put on the right jersey!
