We asked Elder Porter at this point in your mission do you feel it has been
fulfilling for you? Or beneficial to you? I had to share his response...
"My mission has been nothing but fulfilling and beneficial. In every
aspect of it I have done nothing but grown: in my testimony, in my social
skills, being independent, budgeting, relating to others, service, knowledge of
different cultures/bigger picture of the world, being a leader, choosing to
live a Christ like life, and understanding the atonement. Just to name a very
few these are some ways I have grown. 'This is truly 2 years God has given us
to serve him, not 2 years we give to serve God' (paraphrased from elder Spanbauer)
but it is so true. Nothing more beneficial, nothing more fulfilling than
literally being a representative of Jesus Christ doing and saying what he himself
would do if he were here. Nothing better... truly the best 2 years.
